Description

Our aluminum cam and groove to NH fire hose threaded fittings are designed to convert a standard NH/NST "fire hose thread" hose or adapter to a standard camlock. Finished in bright orange to distinguish them from regular camlock to NPT "pipe thread" cam and grove fittings. NH/NST threads are NOT compatible with NPT or NPSH threads.

Under no circumstances should cam and groove couplings be used for compressed air or steam service!

Connections

  • The female side of this adapter will only connect to a 2 inch male camlock
  • The male threaded side of this adapter will only connect to a 1 1/2 inch female National Hose (NH) or National Standard Thread (NST)

How it works

  • To make a connection, simply slide the adapter into the coupler and with normal hand pressure, press the cam levers down
  • Uncoupling is as quick and simple as coupling. Just lift the cam arms and remove the adapter

Cam and groove couplings, also called cam lock fittings or quick connect couplings, are used in most industries as a hose connection to avoid leakages. This kind of coupling is popular because it is considered to be a simple and economical way of re-connecting and disconnecting.

Help Me Connect

NH / NST - The most common thread type in use by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread. NST also goes by the initials NH or National Hose. It can even be referred to as NHT or National Hose Thread but NST or NH is more common these days. NH = NST.

  • The female side of a NH / NST coupling will only connect to a male NH / NST connection
  • The male side of a NH / NST coupling will only connect to a female NH / NST connection
