What are the Different Material Types of Camlocks Fittings?

Camlock fittings are available in many different materials. The most common camlocks, or cam and groove fittings, are aluminum, stainless steel, polypropylene, brass, high pressure, food grade and fire hose.

We don't recommend mixing types of camlock materials, such as plastic or metal, as the weaker tensile strength of the two can result in connection failure.

Aluminum - Aluminum is a lightweight metal with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, making it a good general use option.

Stainless Steel - Stainless Steel has excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand extreme temperatures.

Polypropylene - Polypropylene (Plastic) is a cost-effective, high-performance alternative to metal fittings. Polypropylene offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability.

Brass - Brass is highly resistant to corrosion.

High-Pressure - High Pressure camlocks have an operational pressure of 750 PSI with 316 stainless steel handles.

Food Grade - Food Grade camlocks are made out of FDA approved food-grade plastic. They are safe to use with food handling and transport.

Fire Hose - Fire hose camlocks are available with fire hose threads (NH).
